Where the middle half of the final costs fell
Orange band: middle 50% of bills. Dark mark: median, or middle price. All four rows use the same dollar scale.
The sample includes 115 moves from 2026 and three from late 2025. Routes include Philadelphia, the suburbs, and moves to or from other areas. Some jobs were overnight moves or had extra services. How we chose and compared the records
30 selected EverSafe Moving Co. moves
How much did a 1-bedroom apartment move cost?
In these 30 EverSafe Moving Co. moves, the middle half of the final costs fell between $798 and $1,404. The median was about $918. That is the middle price after lining the final costs up from low to high. This is not a starting price or a quote for every apartment.
25 of the 30 moves used two movers. The median recorded billed time was 3 hours and 30 minutes. Even a small apartment can take extra planning when the truck is far from the entrance or the building has an elevator.
Final bill before tips · 30 moves
This group includes one move with an overnight plan. The moves also had different routes, so the highest final cost is not a standard price for a 1-bedroom apartment.
30 selected EverSafe Moving Co. moves
How much did a 2-bedroom apartment move cost?
The middle half of these 30 EverSafe Moving Co. final costs fell between $1,013 and $2,285. The median was about $1,576. There was room for a wide range of moves within the same apartment size.
24 of the 30 moves used two or three movers. The median recorded billed time was about 4 hours and 32 minutes. Furniture, packing needs, and access can differ even when two apartments have the same number of bedrooms.
Final bill before tips · 30 moves
Two records include full packing. Leaving those two out gives a median of about $1,546 across 28 moves. That small change does not tell us the price of packing, these were different jobs.
28 selected EverSafe Moving Co. moves
How much did a row-home move cost?
The middle half of these 28 EverSafe Moving Co. final costs fell between $1,466 and $2,324. The median was $1,905. This group uses the home categories supplied in the study records; it is not limited to Philadelphia city row homes.
The median recorded billed time was about 4 hours and 17 minutes. Seventeen of the 28 moves used two or three movers. The estimates allowed time for stairs and carrying items between the truck and the home.
Final bill before tips · 28 moves
Three estimates in this group were overnight moves. One partial-household record and one record with a planned storage pickup were left out of this draft.
30 selected EverSafe Moving Co. moves
How much did a single-family home move cost?
The middle half of these 30 EverSafe Moving Co. final costs fell between $1,752 and $4,085. The median was about $2,853. This group included homes of different sizes, larger crews, and longer routes.
The median recorded billed time was about 5 hours and 13 minutes. Crew sizes ranged from two to ten movers. The highest bill was $10,125, but that move used ten movers and had a longer route. It should not be treated as a normal price for every house.
Final bill before tips · 30 moves
Three estimates were from overnight moves. We kept the larger bills in the sample and show the middle half separately, so a few large jobs do not define the whole group.

What the estimates tell us
The walk to the truck matters, too
Moving takes more than loading a truck. The sent estimates included time for wrapping furniture, taking it apart and putting it back together, loading and unloading, carrying it through the property, and driving.
Across this sample, 49 of the 118 estimates listed an elevator at one or more stops. This shows that every move is unique with it’s own variables and each estimate needs to account for each locations specific details.
- Tell us how far the truck can park from the entrance.
- Include stairs, elevators, and hallways at both ends.
- Check elevator reservations and building rules.
- Update your item list when your plans change.

How final bills compared with estimates
A 10% cap when covered
When the guarantee applies, your full bill cannot go more than 10% over the estimate. Your item list and move details must stay accurate.
You can save more than 10%
You pay the lower actual cost, with a three-hour minimum. Your savings can be greater than 10%.
What about the eight bills that were more than 10% over?
All eight are marked “waived/voided” in the study records. We do not assign an exact reason why each of these were assigned an overage; however, we most often see overages due to added items or differences in carrying distance.
This is a comparison of recorded quotes and bills, not an independent review of guarantee compliance. To keep the Price Lock, provide an accurate item list and access details, reserve an elevator for EverSafe Moving Co. when needed, seal all boxable items in boxes, and complete the preparations covered by the terms. Packing-only estimates are excluded. Read the full Price Lock Guarantee.
Use the study to plan
A useful price range starts with the right comparison
Start with your home type. Then tell your mover what is actually going, how the crew will reach it, and where it is going. Those details make your own estimate more useful than any sample median.
Count the whole job
Include furniture, packed boxes, basement and garage items, and any extra stops. Tell us if you need packing or an overnight move.
Describe both properties
A ground-floor pickup and a high-rise delivery need a different plan from two houses with easy parking.
Compare the full price
The final bill is more than the hourly labor rate. It also includes the truck and transit expense, which is the cost associated with the equipment needed for your move, and the manpower before and after your move.

How we checked the numbers
Selected records, not a market survey
EverSafe Moving Co. supplied 120 completed-move records, selected to fill four home-type groups. This study uses 118: 30 single-family homes, 28 row homes, 30 1-bedroom apartments, and 30 2-bedroom apartments. One partial-household move was excluded. One row-home record with a storage pickup in its estimate was held out.
The included dates run from September 25, 2025 through September 2, 2026. There are 115 records from 2026 and three from late 2025. We kept the original dates and dollar amounts and made no rate adjustment. The title describes the edition of the report, not a claim that every move happened in 2026.
What each number means
Final costs, quote amounts, crew sizes, and billed hours come from the completed spreadsheet. Costs exclude gratuity. Home type is the origin category supplied by EverSafe Moving Co. The sample covers different routes and job sizes, including seven jobs with overnight estimates and two with full packing recorded. We did not remove a bill just because it was high.
The median is the middle bill when prices are sorted. The middle-half range runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile, calculated using linear interpolation. These are descriptions of the sample, not price promises, confidence intervals, or prices charged by the whole moving industry. Displayed dollars and minutes are rounded; calculations use the unrounded figures.
Emails explain the plan, not the final work
Each record was matched to its calendar entry and a sent estimate. We searched the stated estimate subject, checked the estimate reference number, and selected the latest full matching estimate found on or before moving day. Later replies supplied context but did not replace a full estimate just because they repeated it.
Limits to keep in mind
This is an owner-selected sample from one company, with nearly equal numbers per home type. It does not reflect EverSafe Moving Co.'s actual mix of all jobs or the whole Philadelphia market. Fifty included moves had neither endpoint in a Philadelphia 191xx ZIP code. We do not use one blended price to describe all moves, and we do not claim that a home type or access feature alone caused a price difference.
EverSafe Moving Co.'s peak season is May through mid-September; 89 included records fall in that window. This sample is not suited to a year-over-year price or performance comparison. Future comparisons should favor matching seasonal periods rather than simply comparing one recent period with the previous one.
